Author: Here you go! It's been three months since I last updated this fic, but here it is! This is the second last part of this fic.

Part 6

 To everyone who keeps an eye on my journal (which, albeit, is a very few number of individuals):

Have no fear!  I have not abandoned my stories.  I am preparing to move continents and have discovered that this task is, in fact, quite monumental.  Not only do I have a myriad of appointments with my bank, my doctor, the Travel Clinic (apparently I am in danger of contracting yellow fever if I'm not immunized), but I have also discovered that culling down my belongings so they fit in two suitcases plus a carry-on is a daunting task.

I think I am just about ready to have the mother of all garage sales.

In fact, over the past few weeks I have discovered a number of items that I didn't even know I owned.  Among them are:

a ratty cowboy hat (I prefer to view it as having "personality")
a shoe rack (this could hae been useful had I known it existed)
a painter's easel
a fish tank

Also, I am quite proud of the fact that I have managed to cut my wardrobe down to 1/3 of its previous size and have gone from 32 pairs of shoes to 11, a number which might decrease further still depending on suitcase space.

While I mourn the loss of all of these items, evidence of my hardwork and money spent throughout the yea.rs, it is strangely liberating to know that I can fit my life into two suitcases and a carryon.

So, having said all that, I anticipate the return of my stories sometime in the summer after I have crossed continents and set up shop in my new city

So I am officially stuck on the next part to "Best Laid Plans".  I have half a chapter and I'm vainly working on the rest of it.  But it might take me a while.

To be honest, I'm in a dark and depressing mood lately.  Work has been really horrible, and while I usually love my job, a person can only take so much death and dying especially when one deals with pediatric patients, like I do.

However, I was able to successfully write a short 100-word Phantom of the Opera drabble.  It's posted over on ff.net, but I figure I might as well post it here too.
